Introducing The All New i30 Tourer
The Hyundai i30 Tourer
This month sees the introduction of Hyundai’s fresh i30 Tourer, an updated estate version of the popular i30 hatchback that launched back in 2012. Ergonomic yet elegant, this five-door estate, with LED headlights and 602-litres worth of luggage-space, combines practical needs and modern aesthetic comfortably; perfect for today’s family.
The i30 Tourer is available in 4 trim levels – S, SE, SE Nav, Premium and the top of the range Premium SE. For the starting price of £17,495, customers will be treated to a 1.0 litre T-GDI turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine and prices only increase to a modest £24,155 for the Premium SE version.
Using fuel-saving technologies and low emissions, the Blue Drive models are economically fuel efficient whilst emitting only 94g/km. Continuing the impressive technological standards set by Hyundai, Autonomous Emergency Braking Systems, Forward Collision Warning Systems, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems all feature on the standard ‘S’ model; as usual, safety is on the forefront of Hyundai’s mind.
All models come with 12-years’ Anti-Perforation Warranty, Five-year Annual Vehicle Health Checks, Five Year Roadside Assistance and Five Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty.
A new eight-inch touch screen controls the navigation system making it easier than before to reach your destination. A wireless charging point for smartphones has also been made a standard feature on the new Tourer. Whilst Premium and Premium SE model buyers will be treated to 17-inch alloy wheels, dual zone climate control, heated front seats, a 4.2-inch display in the instrument cluster, and additional driver assists. Highlights on the SE model include a panoramic sunroof, real leather seat facings and a heated steering wheel.
“Designed, developed, tested and manufactured in Europe, the New Generation Hyundai i30 is Hyundai Motor’s DNA car in Europe,” says Thomas A. Schmid, Chief Operating Officer at Hyundai Motor Europe.
“The i30 is more than just a model – it is a family of cars, consisting of four body types with unique characters united by a coherent, timeless design… With the new i30 Tourer we are now introducing the next body type, offering elegance and versatility for everyone.”
The cascading grille – inspired by the flowing descent of molten steel – “carries the new Hyundai family identity” explains Thomas Bürkle, Chief Designer at Hyundai Design Centre Europe.
“The tapering roofline and the dynamic proportions give the Tourer an almost coupé-like silhouette… The sleek and dynamic profile is further emphasised by a rich chrome frame surrounding the side windows.”
We loved the i30 Tourer so much we decided to take it out for a test drive to see all the new features! See the video below to see what's new as we took the car for a spin...
